Riata Horse Rescue is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Northern California.
Our mission through our Rehoming for Life program is to improve the lives of abused or neglected equines and facilitate lifelong adoption into dedicated, knowledgeable loving homes. Our goal is also to be an educational resource for any group or individual that wants to improve their relationship with and care for horses. We aim to inspire healing for both horses and humans through positive interaction and understanding the true nature of the horse.
We strive to be a partner in the equine community by providing awareness and educational programs for helping horses in need. By having groups and individuals become involved in the daily activities of Riata Ranch Rescue, we bring awareness of proper horsemanship and equine care.
We are a 100% volunteer organization: our volunteers pour their dedication and determination into providing daily care for all of our horses. Our Board of Directors is composed of dedicated horsewomen who collectively have many years of experience volunteering with other horse rescues. Each member has hundreds of hours of training in Natural Horsemanship through the Parelli Method, and most do personally own a rescued horse.
Tax-deductible donations are the foundation of our horse rescue and adoption process. As a 100% nonprofit organization, we strive to make the most of what our generous donors are able to provide. All funds are dedicated completely to the welfare of any our horses in our care and to our educational outreach to further humane treatment of horses.
